Frequently asked questions

Have questions about websites, pricing, timelines or the process? Here are some of the things businesses commonly ask.

General

What type of businesses do you build websites for?

Small and local businesses, such as dentists and clinics, doctors, physiotherapists, gyms and fitness trainers, salons and beauty businesses, restaurants and cafés, real estate professionals, coaches and consultants. If customers look you up before they call, book or visit, the same approach applies to your business.

Do I need a website if I already have Instagram or Google Business Profile?

Not always. Those profiles are useful, and some businesses do well with them alone. A website helps when customers compare options, need more detail about your services, or want one reliable place for your hours, location and contact options. It works alongside your profiles rather than replacing them.

Can you build a website for my specific industry?

Most likely, yes. Each website is planned around the business, so its structure follows what your customers need to know. If your industry has particular requirements, for example rules about what a clinic can say, tell me early and we'll plan around them.

Websites

What is included in a business website?

The exact contents are agreed for each project. A business website can include pages planned around your business, mobile-responsive design, services, about and contact sections, a WhatsApp button, a location map, basic SEO structure and links to your social profiles. See the business website details.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. I review your current website first, then we agree on what to keep, what to improve and what to rebuild, covering design, the mobile experience, content structure, navigation and calls to action.

Will the website work on mobile?

Yes. Websites are designed for phones first and tested on mobile, tablet and desktop before launch.

Can you add WhatsApp?

Yes. WhatsApp buttons can be placed at key points on the page, with an optional floating button and pre-filled messages, so customers can reach you in one tap.

Can you add appointment or booking functionality?

An appointment request form can be included, where customers choose a service and a preferred time for you to confirm. Live calendar booking, online payments or automatic reminders usually need a third-party booking tool or additional development, and are quoted separately.

Can you add custom features?

Often, yes. Tell me what you need and I'll tell you honestly whether I can build it, whether it needs a third-party service, and how it affects the scope. Describe your requirements.

Process

What is the first step?

Get in touch through the contact form, WhatsApp or email and tell me about your business. I review what you've shared, then we discuss what your business actually needs.

Can I see a demo before deciding?

Yes. Where it makes sense, I create a personalised website concept based on your business, so you can see the direction before committing to the full project. The demo is free.

How do I give feedback?

Whichever way is easiest for you: WhatsApp, email or a call. Specific comments help most, such as what to change and why. Examples of websites you like are welcome too.

How long does a website take?

It depends on the project scope, content availability and required functionality. You'll get an estimate for your project before development starts. Having your content ready and giving feedback quickly helps things move smoothly. See how the process works.

Pricing

How much does a website cost?

Pricing depends on the scope, number of pages, functionality and integrations required. Once I understand what you need, you'll get a clear quote before any work starts.

Do you offer fixed packages?

Websites are planned around each business, so projects are quoted on their scope rather than sold as one fixed package. If a simple, standard setup covers what you need, the quote reflects that.

Can I request a custom quote?

Yes. Tell me about your requirements, including any tools or systems the website should connect to, and I'll come back with a quote.

What affects the final price?

Mainly the number of pages, the features needed (such as forms, booking or integrations), whether it's a new website or a redesign, whether your text and photos are ready, and whether you want ongoing maintenance.

Technical

Do you provide hosting?

Hosting setup is part of the project. I recommend keeping the hosting account in your own business name, so the website always stays yours: I set it up and deploy to it for you. If you already have hosting, I work with your existing provider where possible. Ongoing hosting fees are paid directly to the hosting company.

Do you provide the domain?

Yes. If you don't have a domain yet, I register it for you as part of the project, in your own name so you always own it. The cost for the first year is confirmed in your quote, and renewals after that are paid directly to the registrar. If you already own a domain, we simply use that.

Can I use my existing domain?

Yes. An existing domain can be connected to a new website. You'll need access to the account where the domain is registered, or the contact details of whoever manages it.

Will I be able to update the website later?

It depends on how the website is built. Many small business websites are updated by the developer when needed, often through a maintenance arrangement. If you want to edit content yourself regularly, mention it early so it can be planned, as it can affect the scope.

Support

Do you provide maintenance?

Yes, as an optional service, covering content updates, image changes, minor layout updates and technical checks. What's included and how often is agreed in advance. See maintenance details.

What happens after the website is launched?

You get the details you need to own and access your website, and we agree how future changes will be handled, either through optional maintenance or as separate requests.

Can I request future changes?

Yes. Small updates can be covered by maintenance, and larger additions, such as new pages or features, are quoted separately.

Still have questions?

If you have something specific in mind, tell me about your business and I'll help you understand what would make sense.
